Membership

Join the Club

How to become a member of the Rotary Club of Hyderabad Mega City.

Visiting a meeting costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

How it works

Six steps, at your own pace

  1. Tell us you are interested

The form at the bottom of this page. It takes a minute.

  2. Come to a meeting

As our guest. No charge. Sit in, meet the members, see what an evening is actually like.

  3. Come to another, or join a project

The honest test of whether the work appeals to you.

  4. A member proposes you

Someone in the club puts your name to the board.

  5. The board considers it

And the proposal is circulated to the club.

  6. Induction

You are welcomed at a meeting and paired with a mentor for your first year.

Most people take a few months over this. Nobody is rushed, and stopping at any point is entirely normal. The form below starts the conversation — it does not commit you to anything.

Rotary is people of action. If you want to put your professional skills behind work that changes lives in Hyderabad, this is how it starts.

What Rotary membership actually is

A Rotary club is a group of business and professional people who meet regularly, become friends, and take on service projects together. It is not a donor list. Members turn up, take responsibility for projects, and do the work.

In return you get a network of people across every trade and profession in the city who know each other well enough to be genuinely useful to one another, and the structure and funding to finish work that would defeat any of us alone.

Who can join

Rotary looks for people of good character who are established in a business or profession, or who have a record of community service. There is no minimum age, no requirement to be wealthy, and no expectation that you already know a Rotarian.

Clubs aim to reflect the working life of the community they serve. If you are wondering whether a club would want somebody at your career stage or in your line of work, the answer is almost certainly yes — and if the classification you would fill is one we do not have, that is a reason to want you rather than a reason not to.

What is expected of a member

Attendance

Regularly, not perfectly. Make-up attendance at any Rotary club in the world counts.

Participation

Every member takes part in service work. Rotary is a working club, not a subscription.

Dues

Annual, covering club running costs and Rotary International and district per-capita dues.

The Four-Way Test

Applied in business as much as in club life.

Other ways in

Rotaract is for adults aged 18 and over who want the same thing with their own club and their own projects. Interact is for school students aged 12 to 18, sponsored by a Rotary club.

If you are not looking to join but want to help, clubs always need people who will lend a skill for a single project. Say so in the form.

How to reach you
Where you are
Your work

Rotary draws its members from across the professions, so that between them a club can turn a hand to almost anything. This is the part the board looks at most closely — not to judge status, but to see what the club would gain.

About you — optional

Rotary asks clubs to report on the age and gender balance of their membership, so that clubs can see whether they reflect the communities they serve. Both questions are optional and neither affects your application. Leave them as they are if you would rather not answer.

What interests you

Rotary organises its service around seven areas. Tick any that appeal — this is not a commitment, it helps us point you at the right project.

In your own words

Your details go to the club secretary and nowhere else. They are not published on the website. An application is not a commitment on either side.
